Overview of Notifiable Infectious Diseases in China (November 2025)

In November 2025, the nationwide situation of notifiable infectious diseases in China (excluding data from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) is as follows:

– Total reported cases of notifiable infectious diseases: 5,399,589

– Total deaths: 2,160

For Class A infectious diseases, there was one case of cholera and no deaths.

Among Class B infectious diseases, a total of 256,975 cases and 2,154 deaths were reported. The top five diseases in terms of the number of reported cases were viral hepatitis, syphilis, pulmonary tuberculosis, COVID-19, and gonorrhea, accounting for 94.2 percent of all reported Class B infectious diseases. There were no reported cases or deaths for SARS, poliomyelitis and diphtheria.

During the same period, a total of 5,142,613 cases, with 6 deaths, were reported for Class C infectious diseases. The top three diseases in terms of the number of reported cases were influenza, hand, foot and mouth disease, and other infectious diarrheal diseases, accounting for 99.8 percent of all reported Class C infectious diseases.
